TJAAG Applauds Supreme Court's Upholding Stay in TJ Admissions Case
The TJ Alumni Action Group (TJAAG) applauds the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to allow the Fairfax County School Board to continue using the equitable admissions process for Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology (TJ) while the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals reviews the case. The stay granted by the Fourth Circuit Court continues to expand access for historically underrepresented students who are low-income or English Language Learners, including those of Asian descent. We advocate education access for all students, regardless of their racial or socioeconomic background. We hope common sense prevails in the appeal and that TJ admissions continue to become more equitable for future generations.
